Chalet Arts is Starkville's winter workshop for framing!

Chalet Arts loves this time of year for many reasons including the wonderful artwork that folks bring in for framing! We have framed some amazing pieces, many of which will be given as gifts this season. We can't share all the photos right now, because we would be giving away secrets! But, here is small sample of some pieces we've framed recently!!

A Mississippi State Track and Field Scholarship Letter Changes Man's Life

We frame lots of amazing pieces of artwork and numerous other items for our customers. But, we love it when customers come in with stories about how something changed their life, and they ask us to frame their memories! Recently, Mark Strucko related to us his journey from New Jersey to Mississippi State, where in the early 1980's, the MSU Athletic Department awarded him a scholarship in Track and Field.  He was unclear as to whether his scholarship would be renewed for the second year, and when he received his official letter of award renewal in 1980, he mentioned the elation and relief he felt. Mark talked about the overwhelming friendliness in the area and how his life was changed in a positive way after going to school here and how that later translated into his success in life. Although Mark does not live in Mississippi, he thought it was appropriate that he frame this scholarship letter in Starkville at Chalet Arts, the same frame shop that was in business when he attended Mississippi State! Thank you Mark Strucko for your heartwarming story and allowing us to frame your wonderful memory.

Historical Photos look great enlarged and mounted on wood

We do a wide variety of projects for Mississippi State University including printing, framing, mounting photos on foam-core and wood, mounting athletic attire in shadow boxes, and other similar things. Recently, for the Mississippi State University Foundation, we printed several large historical photographs and mounted them on foam core, then mounted those to wooden frames that we built.  This is a beautiful method of showcasing old photos.

The impact of tall slender pieces and tiny paintings with large mats

We are all accustomed to pieces of art being of a certain proportion, often rectangular, and often framed in the same way.  But sometimes it is nice to shake up the norm. We recently framed a couple of beautiful tall, slender paintings that look spectacular! We also framed some tiny scenic paintings in the center of much larger mats, and instead of being lost on a wall, these pieces will be much more impactful!
